| Blue & white Border
Collies are simply a Black & white dog that carries 2 copies
of the dilute gene. Any pup out of a Blue dog will
carry the gene, as the Blue dog has Dilute/Dilute, and the
pup will get one of these genes. Dogs that are Black
or Red and carry the gene may or may not give their pup a
Dilute gene, as they are Dilute/No Dilute, since they are
not Blue, but have one copy of it. At the bottom of
this page is a gene chart I made to help you to understand
the Dilute gene. It works the exact same for the Red
color, except Dilutes are called Lilacs. |
